It's that time again!..13th of March!..'My birthday !:). So help me wish a 'HAPPYYYY BIRTHDAYYY TO ME!!! and all those sharing this day with ME'!.

Quick heart share for you all, see I've always been a fan of celebrating birthdays and life occasions in general. To me it's not about those grand parties, elaborate holidays, shopping sprees and all those others things society portray as qualifiers. Let that NOT be misconstrued. If you can afford it, and that's what makes you happy, content and whatnot, why the heck not! and trust me at times I like doing it big within my grasp!. My point is,  it's not about the big gestures so if you cannot afford to splash out please don't let comparison rob you of celebrating life.

Growing up my Mummy and Daddy always ensured we celebrated life moments not just birthdays. Times we never had much they would still make an effort to ensure I felt those showers of love. Some years I had what I called 'amazing birthdays' and some not so much because it wasn't my ideal, I wanted grand, but even if I didn't get it, we always still did something small and thought filled, be it my mum cooking my fave meal, and baking a small cake, a trip to 'Splash' ( kenya's Alton towers, don't even know if it still exists!) ,but looking back there was always a level of consistency in celebrating my birthday and no year lacked showers of love. Wether on not we had money that year, they always found a way of making memories, and for that I am forever grateful and will follow that through with my little ones :) One Day!

There are so many ways of celebrating, If you followed my last 2 bday antics you will notice I tend to find a theme, so last year was more 'Family' so spent it dinning and hanging with them, the year before I felt it was more about 'Giving back' so I made goody bags for the homeless, made my girls buy Red Nose Day tees, we got on the tour of London by night then after went around blessing those in need. This year It's all about 'calmness' so opting to have a relaxing one.

With that said before I embark on my day, I want to share 5 things I've learnt and is applying this year from my faith perspective, y'all know that I am a Christian Right?! :). Hand on heart these things have transformed my life readying me for this new chapter, so I pray it blesses you wether you are a believer or not. 

1. Revisit Goals.

I am so big on planning and writing things down,' order' I call it. I don't always like going with the flow. But as I wake or prep for the day before, really submitting my plans to God in prayer and asking for direction has a beautiful way of making it all work out for my God. Suddenly, what seems a priority is no longer, or that which was dire sorts itself out with ease! I love it, yet another of God's promises coming to life :).  Proverbs 16:3 'Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans'.

2. Everything 'TO BE' is in you.

This always blows my mind away, before we were formed God knew us, before we came to being he already had our end. Sadly like the children of Israel we can go on the path that takes us longer to get to the promised land. We desire better, dream of better, get frustrated at stagnation and so much more but we have to let this reign deep inside of us, the fact everything we are to be is already in us. We are equipped by him, equipped to live on this earth and know our maker, live out our destiny and be glorious vessels. From the beginning  he breathed a part of himself into you! his spirit is in you, the dreams and visions he has given you- with him in you, you can accomplish it!. He will never give you more than you can handle nor will he give you a dream without the tools to carry it through. We really need to tap more into him, listen, and spend time with him. We only see so far, so why not trust and let the one that see past it all  guide you to that perfect end?! Think about it, the creator of the universe, so mighty and glorious in deity lives in you, his spirit is in you so imagine what you can do. LOOK at all Jesus did, once the spirit of God was manifested in him, his short life amounted to so much so I urge you/ me to keep looking to the source, staying routed to the source and contend In deed and prayer for his spirit to be manifested in your lives. Psalms 18:29 For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.

3. Accept and adapt to change.

Extremely challenging but absolutely necessary. You notice all those that succeed adapt well to change, be it economical, spiritual or physical. There is nothing static in this life, and the harsh reality is ' the future doesn't belong to the strong but those best adaptable to change'. That is why we see dinosaurs are dead yet ants are still alive and classed as one of the wisest animals around, even snakes ( study their survival traits).

Proverbs 6:7 -Go to the ant, O sluggard,  Observe her ways and be wise, Which, having no chief, Prepares her food in the summer And gathers her provision in the harvest.

How you deal and process situations determine your altitude in life. As we all hear ' Plan to fail, fail to plan'. So I believe we have to put the ground work in, wether or not you are trying to sort your finances, plan for the future, or deal with life's HAPPENSTANCES! Be aware of the times, the reality,  acquire and apply knowledge, and above all be positive. Adapting WELL is really a matter of the heart, because what starts inside will flow outside. RENEW AND CHANGE YOUR MIND , protecting what is happening in your heart! 

Philippians 4:8 - Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.

4. Righteous Anger

Never be afraid of fighting, but you have to pick your battles with wisdom. At times you can find a certain person is forever on your case, plotting for your end, you find the same stumbling blocks, hinderances, or even traits you cannot shake-off years on. This is where righteous anger comes in because when you understand there is a spiritual realm and spirituals fights going on, you learn you don't  always have to fight with your fists but on your knees with the words of God in utterance. Guys! we have to know who we are in Christ, his promises for us,  and have that unshakeable confidence. We cannot allow ourselves to be intimated by 'pharaohs' forgetting your life is in the hands of your maker, your being and identity is in him too. You don't need the accolades of man. This also means we need to also stand for our faith , be bold in sharing christ, you have found something so priceless, ' The cure' so don't be selfish.!

Matthew 5:14 "You are the light of the world--like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.

Do not let people intimidate you or mock God in-front of you , I love how David took on the philistine king :-

1 Samuel 17:26 Then David spoke to the men who were standing by him, saying, "What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should taunt the armies of the living God?"

5. Serve and Gratitude. 

This is literally one of my life mantras. The more you focus on yourself and your problems, the bigger they seem. Rather set out daily to be a blessing to someone else, be someones smile, someones shoulder/ ear just be there, and as you do this watch how God In turn blesses you. It doesn't mean you do to get! but rather delight in serving others, have an attitude of gratitude.  99% of the times you will find your problem is actually not as bad as another's and again this is also a matter of the heart, be content in your seasons, look and focus on the good, no body's got time for depression and all that. Seriously! don't take yourself into such dark places. Focus on being a blessing and rejoice in your seasons be it good or bad!

1 Thessalonians 5:18- Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

Closet Goals

With a new year for me comes a new level of self- assessment and desire for development which naturally filters into my dressing. Today's share is a snippet of me working through my winter closet purging bits I hardly wear in the hope of having a more minimal closet, which will not only save me money and space it will bring me a sense of inner peace. Not exaggerating!.. but if my room, closet or space is cluttered, it really affects my daily do's, I don't feel settled. Can anyone else relate?. I combat this feeling by ensuring I don't leave my things lying around before leaving the house or embarking on something new!. To conclude,  I hope you've all had a good year so far, and are working through those penned goals. I am super chuffed about this year,  stoked by that great gut feeling it will be ' GREAT', not just for me!, but for every one of you. I cannot wait to catch up at the end of  2017 to hear all about it!!.

GRWM!- 2017!

Firstly, happy holidays my lovelies. Hope you all had a great break and with the new year fast approaching, time to reflect. I sure did! and still is....counting my blessings, being grateful for how the year transpired be it good or bad and most importantly planning for 2017! I'm certain there's hundreds of posts and videos floating on social media on ' how to have a productive year', ' how to plan' etc so I will not get too much into it but rather conclude saying preparation is key in this lifetime, be it for those long-term or short-term goals, so pen them down, speak positivity, apply and acquire knowledge, and trust me!! Do not  just sit there and set ' realistic goals', AIM HIGH!. We are children of an omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent God, and that confidence should make you ponder on the fact :- ' Impossible is nothing with God'. Be active, listen to wisdom/ direction, and be courageous. With that said, I wish you all a super duper amazing 2017! A year that will blow your minds away in every good way:).

Before I say 'shalom'! I want to say thank you all soooo much for all your support and love, you have seriously been the engine that kept me going and my heart is full :). May you all be blessed, loved and supported a billions times more. SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!! lol in a few days...

IF The Shoes Fits!

I am not one to judge,  but merely glad I can pen my thoughts especially on matters I can relate too.

This share has been heavy on my heart so please briefly lend me your ears.

Guys!!!!! I really think it’s high time 'I/ we', wake up when it come to loving and serving God.

See the love of God towards US, ‘his church’ is compared to a bride and bridegroom, only when referencing a marriage that is founded and sustained through biblical foundations.

I'm sure many of us have somewhat experienced love, and know what is required from a spiritual, physical or emotional perspective to keep that relational flame going strong. Yes!..I know with God it's slightly different because you can't see 'HIM' like you could your family, partner, friends, etc but his love based on faith and those memorable encounters make it so tangible. We just need to act out what we say we mean. After all, 'LOVE' is a doing word right?!!

So am 'I/we' really loving God like we shout out? Are we speaking his love language? To 'HIM', love is more than buying a gift, sending that beautiful text, celebrating birthdays and all those things we treasure making us feel loved. In scripture, 'HE' has says so much about his love language starting from keeping his commandments, feeding his sheep etc.

This is just a brief post to urge all those believers out there to focus on really loving 'HIM'. God is not that leopard print shoe or floral number you pull out on special occasions, HE is not that umbrella you pull out on a rainy day, nor those wellies you dig up on a muddy day.

Let us strive to let God en-compass every area of our lives, let him take his rightful place. After all, we do call him Lord right!!! Lord being ‘of noble rank or high office’.He really ought to take centre stage, headlining our every move.

Let us make him our best friend the one whom we share our every thought, from the aches, joys, plans, you name it. In other words let’s be intentional guys!! Is he really closer than your best friend, lover, mother, father…..?!!!!! I will be working on this and I hope you do too. Honestly as I assess my conduct I am so grateful 'HE' is not flippanttowards 'US' rather forever constant.

Celebrating Life- HBD Me!

For my birthday weekend, we took a late afternoon drive down to Brighton, hoping to catch the picturesque sunset and have some of that famous pier fish and chips. As we drove on, I couldn't help but think how far I have come, how blessed I am, and how much more is to come. It's overwhelming!!!! Seriously my heart is filled with tears, tears of joy, and gratitude.

At times I believe tears are like words expressing the deepest parts of you, so never be afraid of crying. See I look at all I am, and I have so many people to be thankful for because they have, and still actively contribute to my 'NOW', but ultimately I am so thankful to God, because every Good thing comes from him. He is the one that gives me breath and keeps me, he placed people in my life from my parents to family, to friends, he is the one that kept me, strengthened me, made provision, birthed things into me and so much more. So for that I am beyond thankful.

I remember last year trying to figure out what to do, then it hit me!! My birthday fell on 'red nose day' which was a charity day here in the UK so I got all my girlfriends to buy the T-shirts, we painted our faces, got some goodie bags stuffed with food, snacks, scarfs, socks, etc and went on a London tour by night bus and right after walked the streets of London handing out gift bags to the homeless. WHY?!!! See l love love.. birthdays and gifting people. The thrill of secretly trying to figure out what they would love and their face once they receive it is so rewarding. So that time around I felt, what better way to celebrate than to gift those in need with 'necessities' . Trust me if you live in the UK, March is so cold and so many sleep rough which wrecks my heart. I know most have their opinions on the homeless but I followed my gut and was content.

After those cold hours walking up and down, we ended up in 'Tinsel Town' to grab some food. Whilst there my girl ' Bee' whom I call my quarter, as she's so close to my heart asked me to list at least 25 lessons I learnt that year, it really had me thinking and thought each bday hence forth I will list the most prominent lessons that echo in my heart and mind. So here goes..

1. Be unapologetically brave :-

Don't feel you have to justify yourself before people,- a wise man once said ' if you are pleasing everyone then you are not being true to yourself, because you can never please everyone, so be true to yourself. Even the greatest man that ever lived was not loved by all. I dare you to be brave about life, decisions, actions and opportunities, don't let fear master and control you.

2. There is beauty in brokenness :-

Don't be afraid of your story. Don't allow past experiences to define you.  There's a song that goes :-

'If it had not been for the shaking,

I never would have been ready for the making, no.....

If it had not been for the beating,
I would have never knew how anointed I would be.....

If it had not been for the pressing,
I wouldn't be able to walk into my destiny.
He's preparing me, preparing me, preparing me for greater...'

This pretty much cover what I am trying to say..

3. Contend for knowledge and wisdom

This is one of the best lessons ever. Bearing in mind wisdom means application of knowledge. You can only get this from being ready for growth. Read a lot, surround yourself with the right people that will challenge, add, edify and love on you. Learn to apply things you learn, travel and be open. ( with wisdom obviously) :)

4. Love :-

Once you understand love, real love, you will start to appreciate people and things. We are not perfect but once you identify an area of growth, apply change. Love on people, be it family or strangers. Treasure moments and build memories. For those in relationships, don't let past hurts mess up your future blessing. LOVE is the antidote for everything. 

5. Plan, Prepare, Act:-

Lastly there is spectacular something about planning. One thing I can advice is,  as soon as you have an idea or opportunity, count the cost and be bold about making that move. Don't over calculate, the element of faith is necessary, so at times it may be tackling one thing at a time, but planning, preparation and acting is key. Write down your dreams, your plans and goals. However don't be so rigid about it all, meaning when it doesn't happen you crumble. Nope bad attitude! Just flow.. 

Okay, I will stop at that, So let's take a moment to say thank you God for life, mercy and love. If you don't believe in God, I say it with a hug and smile 'you one day will and it's the best and most beautiful thing ever' .
