There’s something beautiful about fringing… right guys?!. It lifts an outfit in an instance, giving a fun polished and sophisticated finish. Come to think of it, I tend to have stories for almost every outfit so please bear with me yet again, I’ll try not digress too much. So, about this cardi now, I stumbled across this piece on a random day out. Normally I can’t help but glance as those beautifully styled window mannequins, they tend to inspire and give me ideas of what an item would look like on, plus most shop mannequins show their recent best buys and trends. It’s actually crazy how I stumbled across this considering the fact I walked into H&M and in front of me was a small rail full of black items. Somehow this jumped right out. Sadly, there was only one left available in an ‘XS’, as I put it down and turned another caught my eye and it was on the mannequin, I stretched my dear hands to find it was a ‘S’ and I wanted that. How annoying, the manager would not let me take it off the mannequin saying ‘ come back tomorrow, we should have more stock we can’t just take it off unless it’s no longer available’. Me being me, I wanted it so much I called store after store but to no avail. I went back the next day, spoke to another manager who checked the warehouse and online store confirming it was a limited edition piece and it was not coming back. To me that was the best news that day. I get to keep it!!! It felt like decades but once concluded ‘ ‘vuala’ it became mine.
I decided to wear all black under it and add some colour with these textured ankle boots and some contrast with the paneled leather leggings. I can’t get over the fact this fabric brings me so much joy, its so versatile and works on skirts, top, shorts, you name it. There’s only one word to describe this fabric ? Genius!!!!!!!!!
