Monochrome 'Day to Night'!

Monochrome 'Day to Night'!

With our so called summer in play and it’s bipolar tendencies never-ending!. I'm  left with no choice but cope with these chilly mornings and evenings, hence the need for light layering but  only with the right type of silhouettes and fabric blends.

With a busy day’s schedule ahead I went for an easy ‘day to night’ look. Black is not my typical go-to when hot, lest I want total dis-comfort!. So.. to make it work! I wore a loose fit ruffled jumpsuit in a tailored crepe fabric. I then wore my crisp white blazer for a slight yet minimal contrast. To finish, I went for my suede bow sliders and my bucket bag which I just can't get enough off!

Fur Sliders!

Fur Sliders!

It’s been a while my lovelies so first, let’s catch up! How have you all been? How's life? What have you been upto?.. As for me?! to say the least! I’ve been rushed off my feet with work, life and everything in between and there is no sign of it slowing down any time soon so I'm really trying to 'work smart' rather than 'work hard', or I'll just end up being reactive to my day to days rather than being proactive!

With that said, a new season is in full swing and I'm enjoying the fact I don’t have to walk around warmly clad in layers. You'd think my whole closet would then transition, but I refuse to shy away from my love for these fur sliders, 'my Gucci dupes'.

These babies are so comfy, and with these chilly evenings and mornings I love the fact they can pass for a summery shoe and still keep my feet warm.

I opted to wear them with my embroidered shirt and some plain denim ripped jeans for a simple casual look! Can I just stress how much I love 'a slight off the shoulder' anything! Have you guys seen the 'Self-portrait Collection'? Seriously the cut and precision of their dresses and tops are so dribble worthy! So, till I own one! I will improvise like so and so can you. Just unbutton a few and pull it over your shoulder and play around with the fit. Pin it, belt it or just leave it like I did, just don’t let your bra strap show. See you on the next post!

Summer Essentials 'The Boater Hat'!

Summer Essentials 'The Boater Hat'!

Hello my lovelies, I hope you’re all doing great!.. Sadly, here in London, things haven’t really been pleasant, to say the least!. From last weeks terrorist attacks to a week filled with rain, wind and cold shivers, and now the ‘election debacle’, I say ‘London living totally sucks right about now, but we will push through with our heads up’!.

So as we await those sporadic sunny days which naturally lifts up everyone’s mood, or start holiday prepping, I have to talk about this essential ‘ the straw hat’, an accessory every girl/bloggers needs!. These hats are meticulously crafted, giving comfort, ventilation and total chicness. Trust me!- you will thank me later. I got mine from H&M last summer.

Now, before you go grab your preferred style, you want to get value for your money, so go for one with thinner straws and tighter weaves. Typical Me right!- I have a thing for detail and I just can’t help myself,  but the truth is you end up getting more wear and a gorgeous smooth texture, which is a win all round! My fave type of straw hat is the ‘ boater’ I love the firm brim crown, and with the straw plaits done thinly and tightly they give off a structured nautical vibe which I love. Be sure to check my ‘ Get this look ’ at the end of the post so see my shop picks.

'The Long-line Bomber'!

'The Long-line Bomber'!

With many still riding the 'bomber jacket wave', I was chuffed to join in when I came across this longline piece from 'Romwe'. The side splits and suede finish gives a fresher take to this trend, plus it's super comfy to say the least. To finish this look I went for this soft striped lightweight top and my leather soft jeans that I picked up  from 'Vila' almost 2 years ago. They fit so perfectly but to my dismay I haven't found any like them!. I'm sure you all know that feeling so let's not ponder much on it.

Moving on swiftly......Seeing as I wanted to opt for a more simple look, I finished it off with my leather converses and leather back pack. I have literally been carrying this bag around with me daily. Initially I felt like 'Dora the explorer' and never quite understood why growns up would carry them, I mean we aren't in primary/ secondary school, and even during those schools days we wanted to ditch them and carry handbags but I love it nonetheless.

Polka-Dot Fun!

Polka-Dot Fun!

Because I'm into all things minimal, today's ensemble is a mix of my current fave boyfriend jeans, a fun and playful polka dot blouse and for those spring chills this white boyfriend blazer.

Let's talk about the shoes for a second!. I’m really hooked on this style of shoe, it’s so retro and awkward looking but I just love it!. I must agree, it is a 'Marmite' type of shoe; 'either you love it, or you don't!'. I keep seeing vintage inspired pumps around so don't be surprised if they make more appearances on the blog but this time bringing an entourage. I'm talking sling back or slip in ones in different shades and textures. This is a trend I actually love and if you know me, I don’t just follow trends, I buy items  I can unashamedly wear years on and these without a shadow of doubt make the cut!. Pointed v-cut shoes give a feminine touch to any look be it dresses, pleated Midis or frayed denim trousers, skirts and everything in between. To encapsulate, this style of shoe gives the right amount of chic!
